How to qualify

Microsoft-verified MXDR solutions must pass an extensive validation and verification process.

Step 1: Meet the prerequisites

To get started, you must be using the Security Build Intent Engagements and have a published MXDR solution in the Microsoft Commercial Marketplace.

Reach out to your Partner Development team for additional eligibility requirements.

Step 2: Validation and application submission

If you meet all the prerequisites, you can work with your Microsoft partner development team to initiate your validation interview and then provide your application.

Step 3: Complete and pass engineering verification

After your initial validation interview, Microsoft engineering will review your MXDR solution for verification.

Step 4: Meet ongoing requirements

You will be re-evaluated annually to ensure you continue to meet updated technology and performance standards.

Verified MXDR solution prerequisites

MXDR solution

Your business's MXDR solution must be promoted on your website and listed in the Microsoft Commercial Marketplace.

Security Built Intent Workshop execution

You must drive a high minimum bar of Microsoft Security Build Intent Workshops within the past six months.

Microsoft AI Cloud Partner Program membership

You must be a Solution Partner for Security in the Microsoft AI Cloud Partner Program. You must also be active with our security go-to-market programs and be a current, active member of the Microsoft Intelligent Security Association.

Customer references

You will need to submit three customer references for your MXDR solution, with each meeting a minimum of 500 active monthly users of either MDE, MDO, or MDI.

Technical verification criteria

24/7/365 monitor, hunt, and response

Proven end-to-end process starting with around-the-clock incident monitoring, advanced hunting, and resolution across Microsoft 365 Defender and Microsoft Sentinel.

Onboarding and posture management

Provide onboarding services that include turning on Microsoft security products, along with setting and managing security configurations.

Integration and ingestion of data across Microsoft 365 Defender and Microsoft Sentinel

Provide ingestion of incident data across Microsoft security portfolio, create custom detections, and perform manual or automated response actions leveraging Microsoft Defender portals or APIs.

Managed Microsoft Sentinel offering

Provide setup, ongoing monitoring, response, and management services for customers interested in using Microsoft Sentinel as their SIEM of choice.
